A Learning, Teaching and Training Activity for the project FeSTEM took place on the 12th-14th of January 2022 online, entitled “Gender-sensitive workshops for HE instructors”.
The main objectives of the FeSTEM training workshops are to provide hands-on experience for understanding the challenges and difficulties that women in STEM encounter, as well as engage them in building mentoring constructs that will allow them to address the challenges they face. The goal of FeSTEM is to reduce the gender gap in STEM, by addressing the contributory cognitive, motivational, and sociocultural factors, primarily by maximizing the career options that women perceive as attainable and compatible with their abilities, preferences, and goals.
The participants (HE instructors in STEM related professions) were invited to participate in the following activities:
- The “Gender-Sensitive teaching” workshop for Women in STEM
- The “Enhancing Women in STEM through mentoring constructs” workshop – The “Women in STEM: lessons learned” workshop
